| The authority for the Commission is derived from Senate Bill 511 which took effect on October 1, 1998. The Commission reports to the Board of County Commissioners of Cecil County. |

| That all women and their families in Cecil County be able to live their lives to their fullest potential through equality, safety, freedom, health and opportunity. |
| Mission |
| To raise awareness of issues affecting women and their families and to advocate for women in order to assist them in attaining the best quality of life for themselves and their families. |
| Goals |
1. To educate the community about issues affecting women.
2. To advocate for public policies (at all levels of government) that favorably impact women.
3. To promote increased educational and career opportunities for women.
4. To facilitate the development of sufficient support systems to enable women to access opportunities.
5. To strive to create a community free from violence toward women and children.
